I gotta be honest, Deni was doing this last season too. After January. If he’s showing consistency instead of flashes, that’s immense growth cause he was never consistent. He was always letting slumps mess with his head. His rookie year he was getting coached by Westbrook who told him that he basically should never suck. You can see Kuzma’s influence with how he drives to the basket. And he’s now playing to his 6’9” frame.Someone has to shoot the ball in Portlandhyped off 9 games.
Not sure @Regular_P has followed the front office under Winger and Dawkins. But they’re about true talent accumulation and not burning through assets left & right sans the Deni trade. They’re both from Presti’s tree. We see what OKC has consistently done and they clearly want to aim for that.
For me right now, it’s about the process more than the results because for so many decades, the Wizards/Bullets prioritized results over process and never had any success because of it.

He got traded for a lottery pick and a 2029 pick (so 2 1's for Avdija is appropriate) and had he still been there I think everyone woulda been circling the Wizards to try to get him. Now Washington got George, Tre Johnson, Coulibaly to hold down the wings;
the macro of this is that while it's early, outside of Castle who doesn't really run point anymore, the best PG in the class so far is Ajay Mitchell in round 2. Washington took a swing on Bub, but he's got a long way to go if he even gets more time.
I don't have a problem with anything this regime has done so far in all honesty. I'm all in on the rebuild and feel good about it. I like the pieces we have and I'm just waiting for us draft the "guy" that takes us to the next level or trade for him.
