How did y'all want Night King to go out? I thought it was logical but anti climatic. I'll say this.. I actually thought Night King was gonna win. All the people fighting over thrones, I thought it was setup for Night King to wipe out everything...

I did not think there would be a happy ending. I thought either Night King gonna kill everything or Dany is gonna kill everything. Everyone should have seen the Dany turning heel thing coming a mile away.. they telegraphed it way way back..

it might still make my top 5 but I have to watch it again in it’s entirety to gauge how much the last 2-3 seasons negatively impacted the series...first four seasons was brilliant television tho

That's it...the payoff was such a let down after such brilliance early on

Like most things in that season, I don't really have a problem with the result itself, but the issue is in how they wrote, staged & shot it.

The way you do it proper is that Night King and his army are an overwhelming force, running over everything in their path and decimating armies. The warfare of men, with standing armies and more men equaling more assured victory means nothing when your enemy can't fall and your fallen join their ranks. And you've built up that type of warfare for seasons, so you highlight that as the siege is going on and how their best ways of masses of men fighting continue to fail and fail and fail and then you instead have the individual little ninja girl who can sneak through ranks and execute an exposed Night King.

It works on paper but they didn't deliver it properly on screen.
