Soul Food CLEARS any European cuisine. Greek is the closest but even then, it's a big distance

My personal favorite cuisines are Middle Eastern and Mexican, but Soul Food is definitely on that top tier

I just hate the way people gas up the European subcontinent. Whether it's their food, their countries, etc.
Greek food is completely different than the other part of Europe though.

Portuguese, Spanish, French food is very nice. I think the key thing is variety and home vs haute cuisine differences.

But I am biased as I’ve rated more European food than soul food.
Where is your family from?

We are African. But I was careful not to put Jollof into the argument. :mjpls:

I lived in Europe for 7 years and as good as the food was in spots like Turkey, Greece, Morocco (I know that’s not Europe but the food was good) & Spain, there nothing I wanted more than a big ass plate of soul food.

Some GOOD Mac n cheese & candied yams are the 2 best side dishes on the planet to me.

Anxiety attacks and sugar cookies
Over seasoned, salted and fried.

Still very tasty, but not as refined as some European or Asian cuisine. :mjpls:

That is the main difference, I’d put take away Chinese food up against soul food, but when you start going to actual Chinese or HK restaurants in their respective countries, it’s a wrap.

I’d personally put Japanese grub over them all; both the sloppy and refined stuff. Also Italian refined food in Italy is baby GOAT tier. Made me do the :banderas: in real life.

Plus Greek, Turkish, Lebanese, Moroccan food…smh. Mans hungry now.
Damn you my stomach hurts now, I'm damn near strictly Asian, Italian, Mediterranean food these days.

you must be from Wisconsin or some shyt.

You think only Black people from Louisiana eat crayfish and shrimp. do you know what the Gulf Coast is :heh:

Bruh I'm from Florida, when I was a child alot of people especially older folks was eating turtles. I'm talking bout bussin a turtle shell open right out the lake and bringing it home to grandmama and she boil that bytch up in a soup type shyt.

:dwillhuh:

You serious? It’s definitely marketed as a Louisiana thing, but I am damn near certain Creole culture more than likely jumped off with French/Spanish owned slaves in Mobile, Alabama…. It’s why I state that creole food = soul food…

Alabama nikkas love some crappy/bream/whiting…. :whew:

No its not, y'all got to stop this. Creole is not soul food. Chitlins and pig feet is more soul food than crayfish and shrimp:mjlol: Google Images doesn't even classify Creole as soul food. Its a genre of black food but it is not soul food.

Hell don't white people themselves prep and eat crayfish at home?

No matter the subject, you stay with a weird, often reductive, take.
