Italian and Mexican food are the two most overrated foods in the world.

Problem is most our people are c00ns and don't even know what real soul food is. They think it's the deep fried, over salted shyt when it's really rice, beans, vegetables and the previously less popular cuts of meats. Also the whole "Cajun" and "Southern" foods are just out foods stolen and repackaged as cac food just like those demons do with all our culture.

Well, taste-wise, soul food is up there with all those other cuisines, but it comes down to presentation.

I work in the culinary/food industry, and I've cooked a lot of soul food, but my plates are more appealing. The plate that OP posted, while I'm sure it tastes good, its presentation leaves a lot to be desired. It's the visuals; see Chinese, Italian, Mexican food, etc, tend to fancy up their presentations of certain recipes.

Not all, but many, soul food places tend to focus more on the flavor and not the visual aesthetic. African food is similar as well. The taste is there, but the visuals aren't.

Presentation is 50% of the battle. True.
