Didn't read, but it probably did leak. Virus started in Wuhan... Wuhan virology was studying it.

I originally thought it was zoonotic, but the way it spread compared to other viruses that were actually deadlier over the last 20 years is kinda statistically significant.

Often times viruses that are more deadly spread less quickly. E.g. ebola is hella deadly but doesn't spread as fast as covid, in part because infected people are so sick they don't go out and mingle.

At this time, we basically know it was a lab leak. This report is interesting and there should be further discussion about gain-of-function research, but this wasn't why he released this. Trump has damaged the U.S. brand and reputation so much that we are losing a P.R. war with China of all places.

Yeah, I was thinking this as I said it that deadlier viruses have a shorter activity time. But that doesn't preclude or inhibit the ability to actually always spread more efficiently.
