became really predictable when Goggins came back to his ops hotel instead of flying home
I doubt hotel would keep killer fruit so easily accessible, they probably make you sick and the hotel spreads rumors that it kills to keep guests out of the infirmary

The opening moments with Jason Issacs having the look on his face , when Piper told her mom she wasn't built for the poor life had me

Also Gary giving the little wink, while his girl was cuckold recruiting was funny. I take your point though.

Dad was awfully cavalier about the suicide smoothies . Putting them under the cabinet at 1st, then not getting rid of the "bad coconut milk" after he had a change of heart . No wonder he got into bad business deals, with some of his decision making. Don't pop pills, so maybe all the ones he was taking was clouding his judgement

What was the point of the middle aged friend groups storyline.

I took it as part of the spiritual journey the season has been dealing with. With the dinner conversation, and Carrie c00n coming to the realization that she is just happy to be alive, existing and spending time with her friends. Even if her life didn't turn out as she imagined and she doesn't have the same things as the other 2, she found a peace she could live with.

Obviously the Dad left with a different outlook on life. Lockie avoided dying and saw God, and even Saxton was starting to turn things around with the reading.

Rick couldn't escape his past and let go, and like Chelsea said their fates were linked.
