Seems like a shallow analysis that completely misses the real point of the show which is that the outcomes of the poor are created by the system that then blames the poor for carrying out the only actions you could reasonably expect based on the circumstances ironically created by the system. That system then leverages the misfortunes of the poor as reasons to continue functioning in the same or even harsher ways, thus creating a never ending cycle of poor people who end up in fukkery and a system that benefits from the fukkery of the poor in order to justify and uphold itself.

Nah y'all are just looking at it from two different perspectives. You're looking at it from a class based/economic perspective and he's looking at it from an existential perspective.

exactly and that is the greatness of the show. The Sopranos talked about the psychological bullshyt that drew dudes into the game and The Wire showed how institutions pushed people to the game and profitted off of it.

"We're still in the city?". All he knew was the few blocks he grew up in. :to:
:wow:
Wild when you think about at that very same time, as drugs and violence consumed the community, somewhere across the city Breanna, Arnaz, and Spirit were living pretty typical lives as kids coming of age.

Fair enough. I just feel like the themes talked about in the vid were super obvious. Or maybe they’re obvious to me since I grew up in a place where things that happened in the wire is common place
