It depends on how long it lasts, how many people die, if there's a 'cure', if it becomes the new flu/ yearly occurrence.
If it's just this year society will go back to it's old ways. Kobe's death had a worldwide impact (which is now minor compared to this) and you had people talking about how it will bring change in not just how media members interact/cover athletes but also how regular people interact over social media. Two weeks later and people were right back to shytting on each other, Kobe's family, etc.
Same thing with people who have near death experiences. Initially they are very grateful, believe they have a new lease on life and will do things differently. But two weeks to a month later they settle back into their previous routine
So if this blows over before Christmas you will have all these people that are talking about not shaking hands anymore bragging about how they eat ass
