The worst thing LeBron James ever did was make the 2007 NBA Finals

In my opinion, had Cleveland lost to Detroit, he'd be looked at in a more positive light. To most, when speaking in terms of legacy, losing in the conference finals >>>>> losing in the NBA Finals, no matter how disadvantaged your team may have been. While the 2011 Finals was an absolute failure on his part, 2-1 in the Finals > 2-2. Also, had they lost to the Pistons, there wouldn't have been as much backlash over him signing with us (although the TV show certainly would've caused controversy). Instead, that 07 Finals appearance created the illusion that Cleveland was a championship team. Just a thought :manny:

Its impressive he led that group to that point.

I hated the Cavs so much back then... If Gerald Wallace didn't land on Arenas, I was confident the Wiz woulda beat LeBron :to:

Nonsense, everyone knew they overachieved that season. The '11 Finals are what hurt his legacy (woulda been last year's Finals too if not for Ray Allen :mjpls:). Cleveland was playing some terrible teams in the playoffs too.

Nah even as someone who roots against Lebron I don't count his loss in 07 finals as a tarnish on his legacy. Everyone knew the Cavs were severely outgunned and I don't think there was really anyone who gave them a sporting chance in the first place. Plus it was coming off of Lebron's INSANE performance in the ECF against Detroit so everyone was willing to cut the guy some slack for taking that team as far as he did.

2011 was a different story because his team had home court and you could argue that they were the favorite to win.

But it all matters little now because Lebron's story isn't finished yet. For all we know he has a string of dominance so long that we'll forget these things.

I think the 07 appearance hurt public perception tho. Losing in the Finals is way worse to losing in any other round to most

I think with the heat losing in 2011 he image a favor as he was able to alleviate much of the hatred towards him. 2007 :manny:

Look at it this way: Going into last year's Finals, the Spurs were bounced 5 years in a row, often to inferior teams. That didn't affect Duncan's legacy in the slightest bit because he was 4-0 in the final round. And nobody gives a fukk about your losses unless they're in the Finals (unless you're ringless of course). As unfair as it is, that's the way a lot of people judge players on an all-time scale
