The writers on Dexter have absolute contempt for their viewers

The use of voice-over in this show is offensive and legitimately makes me angry.

They think viewers are god damn idiots.

Example:
Dexter is tailing Zack. Quinn tells him he is also tailing Zack. To EVERYONE IN THE WORLD, the conflict is obvious. But Dexter's voice-over chimes in with "But if Quinn's stalking Zack, how can I?"

WE fukkING GET IT. And if anyone didn't get it, they don't deserve to know what's going on. fukk them.

And this kind of shyt happens MULTIPLE TIMES in every episode.

I hate how bad this show has become, mostly because I have to finish watching this trash

Dexter had that air of un-missability towards the early seasons.

The show genuinely had me wanting to watch it BEFORE school on Monday mornings at some points man. I used to anticipate that shyt like crazy. In a weird way, aside from the horrible writing this season, the terrible dialogue and the largely unrealistic scenes, it's biggest lost is that aura it used to carry.
