Hole in the water you throw money into

The one thing you’re not taking into account is that a boats value deprecates. A house….well you’ve seen the market recently

$5,500 a month for Marina fees is absurd though. Chicago it’s less than that per season. I have a friend with a slip in Montrose Harbor.

If I’m getting money at the time plus living full time on the cruiser I think I could justify it. I don’t scare easily.

Depending on the size you might pull it off for a while. Best way to make it pay for itself is partner/ownership of the marina and attendant services. Otherwise it's death by a thousand cuts.
