The Yankees are slowly building a potential juggernault.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
If Judge can adapt to major league pitching, Bird, Sanchez, and Judge will be the new murders row :wow:

Torres is poised to take Headleys spot at 3rd eventually and Fraizer will unseat either Gardner or Ellsbury in the outfield.

And they still have enough prospects left over to trade for better pitching :blessed:

I hope so.. baseball is so much better when the Yankees are in contention.
I grew up feeling bad for Don Mattingly. I laughed when George Costanza lost his shyt with Steinbrenner over how he ruined the team. But I seriously thought it was shame.

Then in the late 90s and 2000's I missed those days. fukk em. :pacspit:

Not that I disagree that they're building something. They always are. My team (Twins) has been a farm team for them over the years as have others. But baseball is funny. We'll see how they do together.

More concerned with the pitching prospects than the hitting ones.
NYY can buy bats if necessary. And generally those investments tend to be safer than throwing big money at pitchers. (though, let me be clear, that Ellsbury contract is horrendous)

Tanaka is locked in for a few more years but that's it. They don't really have anybody else.

The hope is that Severino gets back on track, and that Kaprielian and Sheffield pan out. But the latter two are years away. And I don't think Sheffield is that good. He feels like Banuelos all over again.

Short of a monster season by Pineda, it's almost a sure thing that he won't be with the team long-term.
Sabathia is out after the season.

There are really no big pitching free agents after the 2017 season besides Jake Arrieta.
Arrieta is a Boras client, and he turns 31 tomorrow. There's no way the Yankees throw $300M (which is what Boras will likely seek) at a 31 year old pitcher after the Sabathia disaster. Especially with a team as young as this.

Don't forget about Chance Adams aka Chance The Pitcher. The Yankees keep drafting arms though, so they're going with the logic of pitching. I think one or two of our young hitters will get shipped off for a starter provided this team gets better soon
