They need the European soccer system

Zion step dad gets paid under the table and he go to Duke, but at least someone made a choice...

Now he got no choice on where he goes to play because of a draft lottery system designed to create "parity"

The parity that is only needed because the league continues to prop up incompetent ownership groups and treat their fans in NYC, Phoenix, etc, captives.

So you have a ownership group that doesn't give a fukk about it's fans or players and then you don't give the player a choice where he plays?

And then when the ownership group damaged the players legacy by surrounding with garbage, people question the players loyalty for leaving a shytty organization the player never had a choice but to play for.

Just let the players make their own choice on a scaled contract bidding process (until the cap is abolished for it's unconsitutionally anti-labor nature).

The league already let's teams stack talent once the player has completed his four year internment at whichever charity case self destructive bottom dwelling franchise they are unlucky enough to be drafted by.

All this draft shyt is is a handout to shytty ownership groups that can't compete despite somehow still spending luxury tax on salaries. They employ shytty trainers and shytty scouts and a revolving door of coaches given 0 support and ruin not just fans experiences but players careers.

Meanwhile the league gaslights the fans of these teams with terrible ownership groups with the promise of Earth shattering talent just a year away... when most Lnicks fans I know would forfeit the first pick of this draft (and thus Zion) if it meant James Dolan was gone.

nikka do you not understand players must APPLY for the draft in order to be drafted which is 100 their choice
They don't have to be drafted, they can go play overseas and come back and sign with a team
Being drafted is just the easiest way to get on a team because you get thrown on a given spot
And the college system is still better than the soccer academy system because the players can still study a skill while playing, no debt

Those soccer academies be throwing players out on the street if they can't make a team by 18 in a random ass country with no family.

Got damn y'all nikkas over your feelings over the fukking pelicans winning the first pick who could make them trade him if he felt like it and would only have to play 4 years, y'all nikkas acting like it's the end of the world Jesus Christ.

I mean the draft is rigged and you need to get over it. Zion is going to a shyt organization and making millions in the process. Nothing you or anybody can do about it but move on. :manny:

Very oversimplified. The Knicks have a new all black front office with a new coach and they are preaching patience and development and building a new culture. Dolan isn’t hands on with the team and hasn’t been in years, dude is a scapegoat straight up. A lot of the Knicks problems are extreme bad luck and circumstances I’m not gonna get into.

It’s not about being awful at drafting winning with a bunch of young players is hard. Developing young players is hard.

Give Phoenix a Zion Williamson combined with what they got going on with Booker and Ayton and some smart signings and you’re looking at a true up and coming team in the West.

Give Memphis Zion to pair with JJJ, that frontcourt is set for a decade.

And no we weren’t trading Zion for AD stop listening to the media it’s clickbait.

Yup. They woulda traded his ass for AD anyway so Knicks brehs gotta get over it.

And for the record....

Kobe - drafted 12
Steph - drafted 7
Giannis - drafted 13
Kawhi - drafted 15
Nash - drafted 14
Karl Malone - drafted 13
Drexler - 14

This is what I am saying though, what ownership groups drafted these players?

They were all available to the teams earlier in thed (obviously) and the scouts and front offices fukked up

But the main people this punishes is the fans and the high draft picks. Not the ownership groups putting a shytty product on the floor and not investing in good scouts and staff.

If players could decide which contract to sign, it'd be a very different problem.

There's no salary cap in College basketball (as far as we know :troll:) and players are not drafted but there is still parity. Even this year when Duke stacked the deck they got beat.
