They need the European soccer system
Zion step dad gets paid under the table and he go to Duke, but at least someone made a choice...
Now he got no choice on where he goes to play because of a draft lottery system designed to create "parity"
The parity that is only needed because the league continues to prop up incompetent ownership groups and treat their fans in NYC, Phoenix, etc, captives.
So you have a ownership group that doesn't give a fukk about it's fans or players and then you don't give the player a choice where he plays?
And then when the ownership group damaged the players legacy by surrounding with garbage, people question the players loyalty for leaving a shytty organization the player never had a choice but to play for.
Just let the players make their own choice on a scaled contract bidding process (until the cap is abolished for it's unconsitutionally anti-labor nature).
The league already let's teams stack talent once the player has completed his four year internment at whichever charity case self destructive bottom dwelling franchise they are unlucky enough to be drafted by.
All this draft shyt is is a handout to shytty ownership groups that can't compete despite somehow still spending luxury tax on salaries. They employ shytty trainers and shytty scouts and a revolving door of coaches given 0 support and ruin not just fans experiences but players careers.
Meanwhile the league gaslights the fans of these teams with terrible ownership groups with the promise of Earth shattering talent just a year away... when most Lnicks fans I know would forfeit the first pick of this draft (and thus Zion) if it meant James Dolan was gone.
