FIRST: These are the big(well known) name companies.

NJPW ( The WWE of japan these are the big boys. They have all the tournaments and big shows)
Dragon Gate ( Picture ROH from 03-06 great matches on every show. This is most likely the most fast pace wrestling you can see tbh)
DDT DRAMATIC DREAM TEAM ( Comedy based, but they do have serious wrestlers/matches)
Pro Wrestling Noah ( Used to be really good, but ever since Mitsuharu Misawa died (r.i.p.) it kinda fell off. You'll get a good match every once in awhile, but don't get mad if you miss it)
AJPW ( This shyt fell off harder than T-Pain)

Okada was in TNA for less than a year I think, but they really never considered him something. They just went to give him a typical Asian schtick, at least in WCW could a Japanese wrestler be respected.
