Bill single handedly helped to keep our HBCU’s alive. Now the message is college is a waste of time. At the same time many if not most high level/ high paying jobs require it. Especially in medicine, law, engineering etc.

There are tons of ways to make money nowadays but I would never encourage a kid to bank on anything other than academia to provide them with a sure quality of life as an adult.

The 4-8 years of work you gotta put in to have a reasonable place in the job market is a small price compared to spending your adult life being perpetually broke while chasing crypto, trading, social media, youtube rat races.

Classic moment in television history. It was true for its time but not any more. Plus Huxtables were elitists and masked it by us being proud they were black. You think about it, they were disappointed that their college educated kids didn’t become doctors and lawyers. That was their biggest failure in parenting. All of them turned out very good though. Sondra and Elvin tried to follow their dreams and were thrown way under the bus for it like they did something wrong.

Things havent changed, but people havent gotten smarter..the advent of rampant social media sold people a wild unrealistic dream. This generation will be worse off than the previous one long term.

Pure jewels

Also u have to remember the times of going to college and getting a degree was a must..

Today I feel a college degree or a two year training degree/certificate is important especially for black men as well as experience .. they keep pushing the bar up to keep black men out the work force in high level paying jobs

I remember many years ago it was get a degree and u good… that’s what many brothers did and then they added u need to have 4/5 years experience
