Yes. The theory is stating that Kendrick is using his cousin as an outlet to release other music that he feels wouldn't be perceived well coming from him.

This is exactly what I thought when I first heard the album. He clearly was cowriting and coaching a lot of the material.

I've wondered about this. Like if this is a Prince-like experiment of using someone else to release songs you wouldn't put on your own albums. Not to say Keem is devoid of talent but as that post says, Kendrick wrote a whoooole bunch of The Melodic Blue. Or came up with the melodies.
The bigger problem to me is that the more he steps into that more melodic, less lyrical content, the worse Kendrick becomes at being...Kendrick. Lyrically I feel like Mr Morale is his worst album. DAMN had all types of slick shyt on it so the more mainstream sound didn't hurt him much lyrically, plus it had tracks like Feel and Fear (and Duckworth). There's nothing like that on the new album. Father Time comes close. My fear is that the days of Kendrick actually trying to RAP rap are over and he's gonna be doing this Kanye-esque vibes shyt. He's not strong enough melodically to pull that off IMO.

Family Affair and a few other joints from that album would be RIGHT at home on Damn and nobody would bat an eyelash
I think Kendrick makes the music he truly WANTS to make and he knows that Baby Keem ain’t that talented but its still his family so making him the premier artist on PGlang and writing his material is beneficial to him. Its another artist that can tour, sell records, win awards, and “flourish” on the label so they can get other artists to sign to PGlang without the fear that only Kendrick would be successful and a family member gets to be a star. Win-win

kendrick is just a good guy. he was all over Jay Rock's album as well and it did amazing. of course he would do that for his cousin.
