The commuter rail service here in chicago(metra). Has locomotives from the 60s/70s still hauling ass. Granted they do tear them down to the frame every 8-12 years and rebuild them.

I’m guessing they do the same with aircraft that old

The oldest cars in the NYC subway were built in 1965. Though, they're scheduled to be replaced a few years from now.

They're down to just 200 of them, but they're not uncommon to find. They look cool and they do haul ass

You wouldn't even know the plane is old if it weren't for that. The plane I was on had touch screen entertainment systems, but there were ashtrays in the bathrooms.
And they change the seats and redecorate sometimes

So unless you’re a plane fanatic.... you’ll never know ...
