i haven't watched alot of basketball this year so take this post with a grain of salt but damn... I've seen kobe use post moves to make more plays in the paint against taller defenders than most big men this season :snoop:

these nikkas just dont wanna man up and dominate the paint :manyy:

That's because Kobe became more than a perimeter player. He developed his foot work and his moves in the post. Every game he's using Hakeem's moves.

The kids at an early age just aren't taught to play with their back to the basket. I hope the desire to play big comes alive. It's a void in the game now.

Oden would be dominating if he was healthy. Portland and the NBA was robbed of the next great big.

you mean with me saying russel would dominate in this era too? :leon:

btw your Lew Alcindor mix showed a dominating Left hook :shaq2: and a few lay up... with defenders damn near just observing... he just had a clear advantage on everyone... heights and hook..

Wilt and Russ... those dude.... any era... would dominate.

KAJ is taller than most centers in today's game. KAJ is just a much better player than pretty much everybody including MJ.

Breh, what schools have had great big men of late? It's not anyone in the ACC or Big Ten.

That's a crazy notion considering that their bigs really aren't that good in the post. Lance Thomas breh :aicmon: The Miles was a 1st rounder and Mason will be a lotto pick. Come on breh. :aicmon:

Miles was a 1st rounder because he could jump high. He never did shyt at duke. Mason is very talented but could've been a top 10 pick and done so much more in college had he gone to a school who utilizes their bigs.

If you're a shooter, you go to duke to shine. If you're a big, you go to duke to set screens and rebound, plain and simple.

i agree he is a top 5 player... not sure about better then jordan...

but..since this thread is about today's fast pace :manny:

in today's game tho.. like most big.. his career would end early to one of those tall man injury.. (back, knees, feet) OR like all remaining big men who had stellar careers... they would have limited minutes to prevent injuries and being fouled out.

those 20 years careers are such a rare breed nowadays.. the pace is killing not just big centers.. but older players too..now 36 is considered VERY OLD..

Lew played til he was 42

Only backing up a point your trying to make here - he's actually taller than every center in today's game

7-1.88" w/o shoes. The tallest player in the league right now is Thabeet at 7-1.25" w/o shoes. Other "7 footers" in the league right now like Javale McGee, Tyson Chandler, and the Lopez Twins are only 6-11 and 6-11.5 w/o shoes. Based on how loosely list heights are given out to players Kareem might as well be listed 7-4 today because he would tower over most all the guys currently listed as 7 footers.

or maybe you dont understand the human body..

The Plight Of The Super-Tall Basketball Player | ThinkProgress

and lets not get to potential heart problem with those big players..

in today's pace.. Lord knows how many bodies the NBA would catch.

its more stress on the body for 7 footers to play like they do today the game is less physical but more explosive... it is what it is.

so you use the example of Kareem, who played 20 years and avoided knee injuries in his career, as an example of this? :comeon:

No, I was right, your post was sublimely stupid.

And today's pace? the game is slower today than at any point in Kareem's career. You dont know what you are talking about. :russ:

what exactly are you trying to say? you drunk friend?

and yes, i think KAJ would injure himself from overexerting his joints due to the fast nature of the game today...

he was lucky in his day and age he could stand...get the ball... and throw that hook shot...

shyt was automatic.
