Just think about it. In 2023 everything can be bought and at this point poor people will never be able to ascend to the point of buying what someone with money can buy.

It is impossible for 99.9% of poor people to own a house. And most poor people are renting, spending majority of their paycheck on rent.

If you already own a house, that automatically makes you wealthier than majority of the US population. You don’t have to worry about poor people moving in next door either, as owning a house in a “good” neighborhood is impossible for most of the population. Add on an income of 200k+ and good credit and you’re basically living life on easy mode.

For one, you don’t have to worry about any competition as most of the US population is trapped in literal rent and wage slavery. Due to the current conditions there are single digit percentages that the average poor person will ascend to your spot meaning there’s less competition.

Now when we reach incomes over 500k+ that’s where political connections can be bought. You basically can break the law and get off scott free or with very little consequence at that point. Higher your income, the easier it becomes.

Now if you’re poor, you’re fukked. Most black people in the US are poor, therefore most black people are fukked. However there has never been a better time in history to be a high income person :obama:

There was a lot I disagreed with you about but this really stood out. The average couple making $500K combined are professionals--doctors, lawyers, coders, middle managers, etc. They aren't politically connected wheelers and dealers.

Two things wrong with your statement.

I was talking about individual income, not the collective household income of two individuals.

Secondly, you are willfully obtuse if you believe the class of professionals including: lawyers, doctors, and middle managers aren’t politically connected or have the access to realistically do so. Especially one making 500k+ a year.

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for any poor person to own a home. There are many factors to consider. A poor person who lives at home with family can save up to buy a house. A poor person who lives on their own is a different story. IDK the percentage of people without children who are poor but most people who are poor have kids.

Having kids before home ownership is kind of a big mistake. But nature overrides making proper decisions even in an egalitarian, capitalist society.

The economic pressures many are feeling are not going to let up. No one is coming to save you.

Yeah. Good thing they’ve never torn down housing projects and put people in section 8 housing in the suburbs.

All you have to worry about is any quieting any potential revolutions or economic overhauls of the current system as well as making sure you don't go certain places at night.

Nah, he’s right. When you have that income you can afford to attend certain events and hobnob in better circles, but when you are the business owner being recognized by local government, etc, THAT is when you start entering the realm of being able to get in the ear of certain folks. When you are the locally renowned medical professional making waves, THAT is when you start getting the opportunity to rub shoulders with those people.

I’ve seen this trajectory play out with a few people.

Everyone on this board has access to information that will help them upgrade their lives.
Yes, like this thread that outlines the reality for the overwhelming majority of the US population.
