If you think about it, there would never be a point where you're satisfied with the explanation of how existence itself began 
For something to "start" there would have to be a set of circumstances that caused that to start.
Given the fact they can estimate the universe's age, it's safe to assume it "started" at one point
But the sad unfortunate truth about this is that even if they were to discover what actually caused the Big Bang, we as a collective human consciousness would still be left wondering "well, what caused that?"
And any intelligent human will at some point become infuriated with the fact that our own starting point is something that they will never come close to understanding.
The cold truth is nobody here knows what they're doing. Once you make that realization, you can begin to find true happiness.
