The only thing that could unite humanity is if a common threat develops such as a real life alien invasion or say for instance the melting polar ice unleashes dinosaur species and they invade the earth or maybe an attack from artificial intelligence or something. If these things became real life day to day threats it would turn the world into us vs them and give us something else to fight besides ourselves. Right now , mankind is like a football team stuck in summer camp. Sick of seeing each other, nobody but each other to hit and take out our frustrations on, and we need the season to start ASAP so we can have somewhere to redirect that frustration. Such an outside threat against mankind may be the only thing that could unite us. We wouldn’t have time to war with one another. Not while aliens, dinosaurs, or artificial intelligence are coming for our heads daily.

We don't need to unite mankind while we have all these devils around

But it's a harsh reality.

If the aliens were slightly above us in technology (were they would require strategic planning in order to take us down), it would be just like what you see now. People sold into slavery to the aliens. Advanced societies require some sort of slavery/labour class, and I don't think it would be much different if these aliens had any semblance to the nature of human beings.
