I can relate.

Definitely had an indelible situation in my life that changed my feelings towards people whom I thought loved me. That didn't require my "sword." Made me move forward with purpose; leaving them behind...for good.
One thing I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older, is that self restraint and detachment are the most powerful weapons a man can master. Once you can do that, nothing or no one can bring you out of character.

Hence the propagandists.

Look around your own circles and check how many give up before they even reach the trenches. Then look around the spaces you frequent, here or other places online, and the things being said, over and over, every day.
