bruh you are comparing ALCOHOL, something that does not EFFECT the game and people get DUIS AFTER the game or during OFF SEASON to a league INVESTING into a GAMBLING SITE that matters about scores and outcome of players and games. Theres literally no comparison here.

Not only that - what league is invested in beer company ? As far as I know beer companies pay the leagues/channels to advertise. Draft Kings and Fan Duel are actually being invested/funded by leagues. How can you compare that to what people get caught up doing in the off season :snoop:

They're not gambling sites. You think they're the first ones to have fantasy sports where you pay for play? They've been around for years. Yahoo being the major one that does that. They just happen to do it every day.

Fortune explains that, after much lobbying on the behalf of sports leagues like the NFL and NBA, Congress passed the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA), which made sports betting illegal in all but a handful of states (including Nevada and Delaware) that allowed sports betting at the time. Fantasy sports aren’t covered in the law—which was created when traditional fantasy sports leagues were still a niche interest, and long before anyone would even conceive of daily fantasy sports contests.

What’s more, fantasy sports companies highlight the idea that players aren’t gambling in the sense of placing bets on completely random events, such as the flip of a card or the spin of a roulette wheel. Instead, they’re engaged in contests that (theoretically) incorporate skill, knowledge, and close attention to detail. “We are a US-based skill games company, and all of our contests are operated 100% legally under United States and Canadian law,” the DraftKings site explains. “The US Government and 45 of the 50 states consider fantasy sports a game of skill.”

Now if you happen to call bullshyt on the interpretation of sites like DK and FanDuel, cool. Some would agree. Long story short, because people aren't directly betting on teams, it's somehow ok.

The sharks are playing DFS sites essentially the same way investment firms play the stock market. They are identifying pricing inefficiencies and making enough bets to profit on small margins.

Not saying you can't make money on this but it will be a grind and you'll prob have a win rate per hour close to min wage

Conflict of fukking interests man. It's essentially legalized gambling so how can the leagues own a piece of the bookies? Can't wait for the Pete Rose HoF talk to come up again because you know someone is going to make that point
