Businesses that charge you a credit card fee are stupid. Too much transparency. People don't actually appreciate transparency, even if they demand it

I actually do the opposite with my business, I give customers who pay with cash, a discount.

Raised the prices on everything by 4%, give people who pay with cash a 2% discount. People love it. and we profit an extra 2% on cash orders.

People would rather be rewarded for paying with cash, than penalized for paying with cards. Even if the total payment is the same or slightly higher

2.50 is a little crazy. Small spots can get away with say 25 to 50 cents. Struggling to stay open the cash payments at least you can hide a couple hundred a week from the tax man.

Credit card processing fees are a thing they are just being transparent. Are they probably exaggerating to make a additional profit sure. But you can always go to another spot or keep some cash on you at all times.
