These food spots are trying to get over with the fee they give you for paying with a card and we need to stop it

On credit or debit? I believe debit is illegal

And for credit cards it's 4 % maximum.

Are you gonna live by the street code or snitch? :birdman:

Businesses that charge you a credit card fee are stupid. Too much transparency. People don't actually appreciate transparency, even if they demand it

I actually do the opposite with my business, I give customers who pay with cash, a discount.

Raised the prices on everything by 4%, give people who pay with cash a 2% discount. People love it. and we profit an extra 2% on cash orders.

People would rather be rewarded for paying with cash, than penalized for paying with cards. Even if the total payment is the same or slightly higher

carrot vs stick

One of the liquor stores around me started this approach. They have a cash price and a card price listed. It's definitely a discount to purchase with cash. But, I'm a hardly ever carry cash person. So I just accept the markup. Everyone is trying to squeeze their margins where they can right. If the credit card Companies are charging a few well you have to expect the vendors to move that fee elsewhere. I kind of feel the passing of the fees is one of the things that drove a nail in on Cable.

The card companies are ripping everyone off because they charge a percentage instead of a flat rate. Doesn't cost them anymore overhead, or time or labor to process a $5 dollar payment than it does a 5 million dollar payment. And yet they take a larger cut for the larger amounts.

Compare that to ACH payments, if your business accepts e-checks. online. It's a flat rate $1.50 per payment processed no matter how much.
