Also the section where Yo-Yo and her prostitute friend were pretending to blow/Jack off the guys in the cars whilst secretly communicating, was a nod to negro spirituals being sang in the fields to secretly get messages across. That way, the overseers didn’t get suspicious.

as this is a Netflix flick came in with very low expectations. Not only was I entertained but i truly enjoyed the flim and its one of my favorite movies of the year so far
as many have mentioned the 3 leads carry this film and were all phenonal. Jamie was the funniest he has been in years and had great chemistry with Teyonah. But special shout out to Boyega. He acted his ass off the whole film and was the perfect straight for Jamie & Teyonah to play off of.
I plan on rewatching this weekend but one thing I dont think anyone has mentioned

Hmmm, I don’t know if anyone mentioned this but it’s interesting the guys in the lab coats had dark frizzy hair/fros and dark eyes. The ones who were conducting all these experiments and watching over us. Was the director trying to tell us something?

I didn’t know Keifer was in this movie till I saw it… like I didn’t know the full cast and didn’t research.
But it’s interesting they for the first time he kinda changed his voice a little.
Like I don’t think he’s an actor that pretty much always plays himself like some actors.
But most of his work, one way or another I always hear/see Jack Bauer.

I fukking loved this flick. Bravo to the writer/director and cast. See what happens when they give black creatives a shot to do their own thing?
