CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The West Charlotte high school athletic director says formerOakland Raiders offensive lineman and the school's football coach Mo Collins died Sunday. He was 38.
The high school's athletic director Christopher Satterfield confirmed Collins had passed but the cause of death hasn't been released.
The West Charlotte athletic department said on Twitter: ''Thank you ALL so much for your tweets and condolences for (at)MoCollins79. He definitely had the boys moving in a positive direction.''
The Raiders drafted Collins in the first round in 1998. He spent six seasons in Oakland, playing in 71 games with 64 starts. He appeared in one Super Bowl.
The NFL team said on its website, ''The Oakland Raiders extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mo Collins who passed away today.''
Collins returned to Charlotte to coach his high school alma mater after retiring from the NFL.

I cant see myself repping another team, especially if there is a Raider squad playing somewhere.
But I think the best thing that could happen is LA, new coach, new gm, 65 mill free cap , with a top 3 draft pick.

Reggie mckenzie is forcing the coaches to play MJD even though it's clear to the average fan that the guy is done. Also let's not forget that Reggie had an offer for Michael Bush to cone back but pulled it for MJDone.

Grew up a 49ers fan(still a fan) because the raiders were in LA by the time i became i football fan and my fam had switched to the 49ers because of the move. I mainly root for the raiders nowadays because they are in my hometown. Want nothing but success for them, but if they moved again it'd be likeI heard this argument when i was younger, now that im older not so much. Honestly, im fine with LA or Oakland, anywhere else out of Cali is
