Just because they were a 73-9 win team doesn't mean shyt.

League doesn't really have as much talent in today's game as it did.

this is absurd

No shyt.

When you have a FAR bigger pool of talent than ever before, with guys learning the game earlier than ever before, spending more time working on the game than ever before, having more skills and knowledge and better coaching to draw on than ever before, and not diluting the league with an expansion team in well over a decade...well of course you're going to take a step down in talent.

:mjlol:

It's the same reason that no one can run the 100m as fast as they were running it in the 1970s, right? :francis:

Only the whole world was already running....NBA basketball has gotten 10x more popular and drawing on a 10x bigger talent pool than it was 40 years ago. :camby:

To tell the truth, Lebron got lucky as hell. :yeshrug:

Not only the various injuries/suspensions (nothing big, yet each one was just barely enough to get the Cavs imagining they could actually win), but you also have Kyrie playing at his all-time best, TT getting underrated for absolutely incredible defense, and even Love actually showing up in the end. Plus GS simply laying an egg in Game 7.

Lebron got lucky. But he also played the greatest final three games of a Finals ever. To have an all-time great comeback, you sorta have to have both of those things combine. Every player gets some combination of good luck and shyt luck in their career - Lebron's has certainly had both already, including a lot of the shyt luck - and he made the absolute most of this chance. Sure, it caused him to get more credit for this win then he probably deserved, but he had been getting less credit than he deserved before, and it was STILL one of the greatest Finals performances in history no matter how much you consider the GS injuries...so I have no problem with him basking it the glory at all.

I agree with you

but Lebron's performance and leading in every stat category must've had an effect on the Warriors Defense, Lebron played amazingly which lead to the defense having to adapt trying to limit him more, creating more opportunities for the rest of his team. One example is Lebron basically conditioning the Warriors by driving in, then passing it out far to the 3pt line. Eventually the Warriors would try and cut off that pass giving TT space leading to some easy points

That game where Lebron was hitting his perimeter shots accurately must've had a huge impact in the Warrior's defensive planning

Its physically impossible to beat the team the way its constructed if LeBron is hitting his J. Physically impossible. Gotta defend his outside shot, can't let him fake and drive in on you, can't let him pass it out to an open guy, and they got nothing but shooters. Hope he works on it this off season.
