Nothing wrong with the Dream but they too might need to look to rebuild. They haven't figured out the post play since Sancho fell off. Williams got potential

The bench regressed and now they are playing at a sub average level. The starting unit was always hard to watch. I smell a Millsap trade coming soon. Hopefully for someone like Zach Levine or Dragan Bender

You're not trading Sap unless he makes it clear he's not resigning. We need a playmaker on the wings...that's been a recurring issue for years now

We don't have that option. Without Kyle the court is too tight and we don't have a talent that really should start at SG. Bembry is talented but he's too raw. We gonna have to rebuild

THJR? But for a supposed shooter, he's been average/below average at the 3 his whole career :manny:

He's DeRozan, he's a very good player but he's not an impact guy. We lost that with Al. We don't got any impact guys and everyone looking like shyt. Dennis is a PnR PG and no one sets any good picks without Al. We gonna have to blow it up soon. The road to 38 wins

Breh please. The team hasn't slumps like this with Al too...the issue is inconsistent PG play and inconsistent wing play (Baze & Korver). We got a net upgrade by getting Wop over Al, don't let this stretch fool you into believeing Al Horford would've been the difference in this stretch

The starting five numbers have been consistent win or lose. It's our bench that has been inconsistent and it is in our record. We haven't been good starting five all year. It is our bench that has won games.

Al Horford is a massive upgrade over Dwight. Dwight is nice to have if we had Al but we don't. He just gets in the way, doesn't do the little things and can't play v. athletic teams anymore.

He's not regressing but he doesn't fit and is at his best with Dwight on the bench. He was a big part of some of our early wins. He would play with the 2nd unit and put us in position to win games. Now teams are realizing that, keeping their best units on when Sap is with the 2nd, minimizing his impact with the 2nd unit and our bench productivity has dropped for it. I actually look at the variances and numbers. I don't just call it like I see it even those this is also how I see it.

Bud has the parts to fix the team in the short term. I'd love to see Prince get more time, Thabo get more time and Baze (contract be damned) get less time. Same goes for Dennis...if he starts playing like a dummy he needs to sit his ass down

And in no universe has Al Horford ever been a massive upgrade over Dwight. Ever. And what little things does Al do better than Wop? Shoot threes? Clap his hands after another missed 20 foot jump shot? Wop brings physicality, rebounding and inside defense and has played well this yr and is putting up better numbers than Al. For every thing you love about Al, Wop can do something just as impactful. Wop allows us to be a better team in the playoffs where our center plays tough inside and gets rebounds...i told y'all before this season to expect more hiccups in the season but we'll be better positioned in the playoffs. The talk of 50 or 60 wins in this thread were ludicrous for this team

I love Prince potential but he is not a good enough shooter to start right now. He is also still learning the game.

In the current NBA, he is a massive upgrade over Dwight. Dwight doesn't have much impact outside of the end product at this stage of his career. He finishes plays with rebounds, blocks and dunks but the in between is where he vastly struggled. His off ball movement is non existing. His screens are terrible as usual. His BBIQ is average at best. His off ball defense is terrible. PnR defense is terrible. His ability to make reads is poor which was something I thought Bud could improve. He is just not that good outside of the raw numbers. For his size and explosiveness, he doesn't really score in the post. For his toughness, he doesn't like to get dirty. He is a faux big time player and he kinda sucks. Like Bazemore does as much and he can't score or shoot that well. Of course you will disagree as you really don't see the game the way I see it as you think Dwight is still good but truthfully. If Moose was 20 pounds bigger and can handle the bulk, he would be a clearly better player for us than Dwight.

What does Al do better than Dwight Howard?
Defense in everything but interior defense.
Off ball Movement
BBIQ on both sides of the court
Screens
Winning reads
Shooting
PnPs
Passing
Agility
Quickness
Speed
Running the court
Fast break defense
Fast break offense
Free throws
Versatility
Can defend multiple positions
Can cover peoples ass for them and spring players open like Kyle and Tim

You know, things that win you games. Dwight is not that good anymore. He really shouldn't be starting.

I like Dwight, I do like the balance that we didn't have last year but I wanted that balance with a lot more impact. This year, we moved up in terms of rebounding and FG% but dropped in everything else. Our elite defense is just league average and our league average offense is below league average. You can blame Kyle and Bazemore but both are asked to do more and trying more with a tad more success but the level of difficulty is far too high now. You might like Dwight, but he's not the player be was in Orlando to where he can get away with being limited since he no longer has elite athletic ability.

We knew coming into the season that we would lose offensive versatility with Wop over Al. I'm not debating that. But we're defensively a better team, a better rebounding team and a better second chance scoring team. Wop's ability to control the offensive boards have opened up rebounding opportunities for our other bigs, but in your world Dwight Howard kinda sucks :mjlol:

And Moose is an unathletic white boy who can't bang or get rebounds. He's improved but the disrespect you have for Wop is ridiculous to even make that sort of comparison. :beli:

Dwight shouldn't be starting? :dwillhuh:

Our defense has been the best in the league in defensive efficiency, what are you talking about "league average"? :dwillhuh:

And yea Dwight isn't the player he was in ORL...that's obvious. But he's an upgrade in the C position in the things that y'know, win games in the playoffs like:

Rebounding
Inside scoring
Interior defense
Toughness
Physicality
Blocked shots
Speed
Quickness

I gotta be honest and say some of what you're saying makes absolutely no sense breh...Al makes "winning reads"? Huh? You're making shyt up now breh...I get it Al is one of your favorite Hawks ever but for all the things you listed that he did, none of that translated to a win vs. CLE, none of it. Gimmie Wop in a street fight when we need to bang, fukk that party cake, double dutch hand clapping bullshyt in crunch time by your starting C in a playoff game

Al is faster and quicker than Dwight and it's not even close. Dwight runs the court like Yao. Always last and it's like 4 on 5 on offense and sometimes defense. He is part of the reason our transition defense is trash when it used to be elite for the last 10 years.

How are we a better team defensively? Nothing you have can make what you stated to be true. Nothing. I am waiting?

Dwight does make us a much better rebounding and 2nd chances team, which is true but if our players are constantly forcing bad shots and losing efficiency, how does this help us in the grand scheme.

Moose does the little things, he's just too small and doesn't have much God given talent. Still makes a lot of winning plays which shows on his +/-.

Our defensive rating is due to our 2nd unit. Delaney, Tim, Thabo, Mike with Sap. Not to Dwight.

I am trying to see his big winning contributions.

From Chris Mannix

"An Atlanta team that ranked dead last in the NBA in offensive rebounding rate has vaulted into the top five. An active Howard has morphed a team that rarely won the battle for second-chance points into one that gobbles them up regularly. In past years, Atlanta de-emphasized offensive rebounding in favor of tight transition defense. This year, players say, the Hawks routinely send bigs careening toward the offensive glass. Howard, Budenholzer says, is not just pulling down his own offensive boards (4.6 per game) but is creating the space for Mike Muscala (1.7 per game), Paul Millsap (1.3) and others to contribute on the offensive glass.

Scouts who have seen Howard 4.0 agree: This is the best he’s looked since Orlando. “He’s as active as I’ve seen him in years,” remarked one scout. “With him there, everyone is playing up and aggressive on the ball,” added another.Atlanta was the NBA’s second-stingiest defense last season, surrendering 101.4 points per 100 possessions. Before a quad injury forced Howard out of Wednesday’s game against Milwaukee, that number dipped to 97.9, and Atlanta was pacing the league in steals (10.6) and forced turnovers (17.9), which have yielded around 20 points per game in transition scoring.

Sorry to keep you waiting

Again from Chris Mannix

"The Hawks’ brass has raved about the team’s improved physical nature and how it has been able to play tougher while averaging fewer fouls this season (17.6) than last (19.2). And while Atlanta has stumbled from a top-10 team in transition defense to one that ranks in the bottom third, the uptick in second-chance points makes up for what the Hawks are giving up in the open floor. Turnovers are a concern, and Atlanta has issues when teams go small and a lack of defensive versatility is exposed. But the commitment to be more physical has paid off.

It comes down to this: Horford will forever rank among Atlanta’s most popular players, but for this team, Howard might be better"

You're welcome
This article might have been good considering we had a weak schedule at the time but since the injury, his value even for what he does isn't there.

As for the numbers, we have dropped to 9th in OPP v. Offense is 23rd barely ahead of Philadelphia.

The team has issues that run deeper than just Dwight. But for you to say he's a bench player and that Moose is 20 pounds away from being better than him is insane breh
