They say new generation of street nikkas are more violent than their OG's and yet murder rate keeps going down

Media and public perception often exaggerate the prevalence of violence, causing many Americans to believe crime is rising even as it declines

Social media amplifies disturbing incidents too, while actual rates, especially in middle-class and suburban area, are near their lowest levels since the 60s.

There's no money in reporting the facts. There's money in reporting the exceptions. Continuously watching news which shows exceptional circumstances can re-wire your brain to perceive the world as being more hostile than it is. Especially if you live in a suburb away from the cities that are apparent war zones.

There's a name for it. It's called Mean World Syndrome

And it is the bread and butter of privately owned news companies(aka most of them) and politicians(ESPECIALLY republicans) and their counterparts in other parts of the world. They need you to believe the world is getting worse, and the only way to fix it is to give them more money(either by continuing to watch private news/pay for a subscription or by donating to the political campaign of someone who's going to "kill the woke mind virus" or "fight donald trump" by sending him strongly worded letters and doing silent protests at work or whatever).

The people who actually live in these areas know who is causing trouble and how to avoid them and they've been actively working on solving these problems either with local police departments or local non-profits who redirect young people who are susceptible to falling into a life of crime because they believe thats the only way they can ever have some economic stability and experience basic dignity, respect, and a sense of belonging to a family that will have their back.

It's the same tactic they use to keep the military/defense budget bloated

"The world is more dangerous than ever and they threaten our very freedom and safety"

Neighborhoods ain't as decripted and bombed out as they used to be. Drug game not as glamorous as it use to be. Also with gentrification came a disruption of that heavy concentration in the hood where personalities and ambition clashed.

Also there's alot of cameras around nowadays

:wow:This is one of those threads where Coli anaylysts discuss cooked numbers about modern day crime without posting actual stats of those bullshyt numbers.

On the real, the reason why crime is down is because the cameras are everywhere. So if you catching a case, it's malice intentions. Also, nevermind the uptick of scam crimes and etc.
