Former Chicago Bulls forward Horace Granthad a productive 17-year NBA career, during which he scored 12,996 career points and pulled down 9,443 career rebounds, winning four NBA titles. Off the court, Grant also had a productive personal life, which was marked by two marriages, a baby mama, and eight total children.

Having multiple affairs and children from different mothers has put Horace in trouble, at least financially. During an undated appearance on the "Child Support is a Fraud" podcast, Grant detailed how he was defrauded by a child support agency.

"This is what the child support agency tried to do to me," explained Grant. "It's called a 'quadro' — qualified domestic relationship order. They went after my pension. Here's the kicker: If they didn't have a signed affidavit by a judge in 180 days, the quadro is void. Here's the catch. A hundred eight days passed, no judge signed. They didn't have anything. Next thing you know, two weeks later, a judge signed, and we got to keep it frozen. Take a guess who that judge was. Her name is Erin M. Childs, was in my divorce. She was the fake judge in my divorce."

Horace's colorful lovelife

Albeit his success in the NBA, Grant had a rather messy life off the court. He married Donna Weaver in 1988 and filed for divorce in 1992. A year later, Donna went to court to prevent Horace from stating he was single while their divorce was pending. In 1996, two years after his divorce was finalized, the power forward bore a daughter with a woman named Ann Gore, as the two had a child support battle.

In 2003, Horace married Andrea Grant, and they settled down in California, where she is from. Ten years ago, the former Clemson star professed his love for his then-wife of 13 years on Valentine's Day. No news about the couple is available online, but in 2023, Grant was a defendant in case 2:23-cv-05803 filed by one Andrea Maria Grant, which could indicate trouble in paradise once again for the ex-Bulls star.

Horace did not mention which of his children the child support issue that involved the freezing of his pension was about. However, since he mentioned the name of the "fake judge," the attorney he named is a judge from San Obispo County in California who was a Family Law Commissioner for the Superior Court of San Luis Obispo County from January 2017 to December 2022, and an AB 1058 Commissioner for the Fresno County Superior Court for 10 months prior to that.

Child support is a fraud because of fake judges

Curiously, the "Child Support is a Fraud" podcast, where Grant made his revelation, is hosted by Lionel "TJ" Tillman, the author of the book "How I Stopped Child Support". Tillman claims he got his child support case dismissed after pointing out legal loopholes in state and federal laws.

Tillman is probably the reason why Grant labeled attorney Erin Childs as a "fake judge" because TJ always uses that term while explaining why child support is a fraud.

"Child support is an administrative hearing. They are not judicial officers. So, family court, when you go through child custody, visitation and things of that nature, that's a judicial process. But when you go to child support, that's an administrative process…28 USC 1691 says all writs and processes issued from a court in the United States must be under the seal of the court and signed by the clerk thereof. An attorney cannot issue a judicial order. This is not my opinion. This is facts…These fake judges in these hearings they are attorneys acting as a temporary judge. So the fact that a fake judge issued you judgement, that makes it fraud because an attorney can't issue a money judgement," said Tillman on the "Inside the Vault" podcast.

Horace made a total of $67.9 million during his 17-year NBA career, and it's sad to hear him talk about how child support battles are starting to affect his finances. However, then again, Grant has eight kids with three different women, which is never easy to deal with.
