I say send all sexual predators, pedos, and serial killers there. The types of people that need to spend the rest of their existence in pain and misery. Any less crimes are ineligible.
:what: This makes no sense.
No wonder this country is full of people who have no moral compass. This is an emotional response, we should treat all prisoners humanely, literally every single example shows us this is beneficial to society in the long run. We should send people to prison to keep them from victimizing others, not to torture them.

It may be emotional but if you or someone you know were a victim, you'd want the worst for the perp. Especially a violent or sexual crime.

And it points to a different issue in regards to being "humane". For far too many people out here, the amenities in prison ain't even guaranteed on the outside.* So yeah, folks gonna wish the worst for chomos, rapists, and murderers. But in most cases, I agree with real rehabilitation or humane imprisonment for certain offenders.

*They not guaranteed inside either, so pardon any hyperbole.

I understand but it's the responsibility of the state to be emotionless, you're right certain prisons are more comfortable than living on the street in some cities/hoods, that doesn't mean we should strip them of their rights while we still have nothing. I would feel different if it was my family of course I would, my point is my feelings shouldn't be taken into account when sentencing someone for a crime. Some judges even disagree, I once heard a judge say (Dippolito case, wife filmed hiring a hitman) when we take sentencing into account we have to consider restitution and justice to the family. I thought that was wildly unprofessional, nothing short of a time machine can truly give anyone real justice, there's no point in pursuing it.

For all offenders, the state sets the standard, if a judge and jury can decide who lives and dies or who can be tortured then how can we say killing or torture is inherently wrong? Apparently it isn't, we just need 12 randoms and a man in a black dress to justify it.

I appreciate the video and I feel you. The state does set a standard but we live in a loophole polluted era. In the case of legal prison barges, most of society will turn a blind eye and sickest of COs and wardens are going to take advantage of criminal prisoners.

I agree in being emotionless but I also fear that is too idealistic. We know torture is inherently wrong and constitutionally banned, which is why the prison system has eased into this phase. It's business. And when that business ultimately makes the average person feel safer, nobody is going to check it. So basically, you're right. There's no real moral compass in the US.
