Burn Hollywood Burn :damn: :pacspit:

6th Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs were dope but after that he's dropped two duds, almost killed the Avatar franchise outside of cartoons, and The Happening is like a GOAT comedy film (too bad that's not it's intention).

So for all that dedication to quality he gets to do an original movie with the biggest box office draw in the game.

One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.

Hollywood and it's 5th chances shyt on the real world :wow:

You realize its a money game, right? Despite all the criticism he's taken, his films still generally make money. Pair him with a sure thing like Willard Smith and its a no-brainer.

Well, I did like Devil. However, I'll never forgive him for embarrassing Airbender Aang.

Yeah, but Airbender almost bombed in the US and The Happening and Lady in the Water didn't perform nearly as well as expected. Basically, he's shown nothing since 2004 to get these kind of chances to me.

I mean we all know this movies gonna suck. My boy Willie's walking into Wild Wild West 2 :to:

He didn't direct Devil, he just got a writing credit and put his name on it.

That bombed too I think :whoo:

Almost but didn't. The Happening and LITW still made money. His back catalogue still stands up more than decently. I hear what you're saying but they could do far worse.

He's like the Jay Leno of directors... he takes far too much criticism for all the money he's made/continues to make for the studios. And that's all it comes down to. Money.

How many mistakes his Will made since WWW? I see very few, if any at all outside of Seven Pounds.

But damn, now that I think about it.... he could be due again and this could be it.

It's all gonna depend on how much people still trust this dude. Everyone went to see Airbender because it was so popular at the time. But did anyone go see it twice? I doubt it.

There are idiots out there though so I have no doubts it will make something back but paying for an M Night movie is the ultimate example of battered wife syndrome :smh:

the village, was good imo, also.

although his last 2 movies weren't that great, i think the hatred for him is a little too much.

a lot of folks hate him because he's indian (you know that shyt's true)

and in a way, he's a victim of his own success, by starting off with very good movies in succession.

ANYONE can make a movie if you have enough money for it

His movies aren't really US friendly...

I liked the Village as well.
