Suspect in Brooklyn woman’s execution-style murder caught in Florida
An alleged killer who walked up to a Brooklyn woman and shot her in the back of the head has been captured in Florida, police said Monday.
Wanted in a caught-on-video slaying of Delia Johnson on Aug. 4, police tracked down Claudia Williams, 42, in Jacksonville Monday morning, sources said.
Johnson, also 42, was chatting with a group of people by a stoop on Franklin Ave. at Prospect Place in Crown Heights a few blocks from her home when she was killed.
Video shows the killer, a blond woman wearing a black top and black leggings, lifting her gun right before shooting Johnson in the head, then firing at her again as she hit the ground.
One man recoiled in terror nearby, while people Johnson was speaking to toppled backward on the stoop, the video shows.
Family members told the Daily News in August they believe the shooter followed Johnson from a funeral in the neighborhood earlier in the day.
