Jay-Z’s verse in Thank You
I was goin' nine eleven 'em, but they didn't need the help
And they did a good job them boys is talented as hell
'Cause not only did they brick they put a building up as well
They ran a plane into that building and when that building fell
Ran to the crash site with no masks and inhaled
Toxins deep inside their lungs until both of them was filled
Blew a cloud out like a L into a jar then took a smell

verse hard, and I can’t really tell if he making fun of it or just using it as a metaphor, but NYC rappers seem like they dont gaf about it. I might be extremely wrong though :yeshrug:

Jigga filmed the video to 'Girls, Girls, Girls' on 9/11.... didn't even cancel the shoot

But those label heads had them doing benefit concerts immediately. It was obviously them, cause rappers don't organize quickly like that

It's just shock value BS. Like Biggie's lines about Raven Simone, XScape, & what his man Gutta is all about.

Nothing to read deeply into :unimpressed:

There's an incomplete wiki of songs referencing 9/11. Many of them rap songs. Of course NY rappers were affected by it

Those kids must have never heard Jeru's Come Clean or the other songs from that era that referenced the 93 bombing. It's an honest mistake unless you're from the tristate.

Come on fam its common sense. Just look at when the song came out.
