Thinking About Coppin a MPC 2500..

I've always wanted one and i have a link to get one for relatively cheap.
i don't have much beat making experience but f-it it's something i've always wanted to try out

i have a bunch of old 60s and 70 musics i figure i can work with and have some drum sets i downloaded a while back.

Do you guys have any advice on how to get started? any helpful tutorials, or tips on how to get over the learning curve?

Dead serious how cheap is cheap? Anything over $750 unless it has the JJOS2XL on it is too much. You better off getting The Studio/Ren for a faster workflow.

Yea get your self a mpc renassiance or a maschine having a MPC2500 in todays day and age is jus a deterrence now that we primarly us computers for music production. shyt I got a MPC2500 maxed RAM out n all it does is collect dust.

You're better off saving a lot of money and jump on either the MPC Studio or Maschine.

Both are portable Drum Machines that hook into your laptop (Mac or PC) and run off Software where you make the beats from. Jumping on a 2500 now is pointless because it doesn't have the capabilities both of these controllers have to play Virtual Instruments (Synthesizer programs) in real time without having to audition sounds.

I personally use Maschine and I was a MPC2000XL user for close to 8 years. There's no point using anything but either of the controllers I mentioned. Maschine is almost becoming Industry standard these days

I bought Maschine last year. For 4 months I was still working on the XL while getting used to Maschine. My man came by and showed me some tips that ultimately got me attached to Maschine to where the MPC was ironically...useless. I have tons of plug ins / vsts that would make it a pain in the ass to route everything to run in real time with the MPC. Maschine is kinda the marriage of both the Analog and Digital world and it's cut down a lot of the in between time of routing sounds from your computer to the MPC. Everything is essentially a plug and play and runs flawless. The pads are dope, the swing is dope, the sample editor is amazing, you can use plug ins within Maschine on individual tracks and you can audition them AS the beat is playing (as well as auditioning new sounds if you're not liking a kick, snare, etc.)

It was a no brainer for me. I sold the MPC to my man who was simply a gear whore and has every drum Machine post 1987.

Yea like everyone said, I'd go the maschine or renassiance/studio route. Actually if you have no experience just find a download for FL Studio and save money until you understand what you'll need/want.
