what do u think is up with mine?
transmission fault sensor showed up…and next day it went away…do i just need fluid
Take it to get looked at
The Number 1 Reason people's BMWs "cost so much to repair" is because people don't take their shyt to reliable shops for regular servicing + knowing the car and what it needs
Then some shyt happens and now you've got an expensive bill
You can even take it to BMW if it makes you feel comfortable, however, DO NOT PAY FOR THEM TO DO ANY WORK THEY WILL TRY TO BEAT YOU IN THE HEAD
BMW will give you a detailed breakdown of everything that needs to be addressed. From there you can determine what you need and when to fix it, and how much you're going to pay to fix it.
A good example is what just happened with my 2014 F30 the other day. The "breaklight malfunction" indicator kept coming up. I said ok, well I'm out of warranty (I got this CPO'd a few years ago) but I still had a service warranty on it. I take it to BMW. BMW says my entire taillight housing needs to be replaced....for $1400
NEGATIVE
What happened is that the Bulb Socket on the inside of the taillight housing got corroded out so even if you replaced the bulbs (which is what I did initially myself) eventually it will say that there's a malfunction anyways.
That part, OEM, costs about $60 and about 10 minutes of time to unscrew the housing, replace the Bulb Socket and then place it back in the car.
Boom....saved $1340
Also...if the car feels weird...even the slightest rumble...TAKE IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT
Better for you to cop some new sparkplugs from Rockauto (which will again be infinitely cheaper) and take it someplace reliable than to pay $2000 for something that was easily dealt with
And if you can do all these things yourself? EVEN BETTER
