I have no problem playing prevent defense when the other team is throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball every drive.

I agree that eventually they'll need to start playing offense but its hard to not let Trump just self-destruct. If the polling were saying differently, I'm sure they'd be pushing for more appearances/messaging but is it worth it right now?

Ideally yes, but because they are worried about gaffes and stuttering problems they are playing it safe. They need to promote their policy positions more even if it isn't Joe have a surrogate out there saying we are aiming for A, B and C to happen in this X, Y, Z timeframe. Explain to Americans what you plan to do for them like they were 5 years old and do it as often as possible.
