Just that he controlled his own destiny in his 1st term which counters the OP.

The ACA was a great and noble cause but its policy and execution were terrible. Its gonna get overhauled within this decade, IMO.

Barry has done well for the most part. I'd rate him well above average as far as Presidencies go though he's far from perfect and most definitely backtracked on a lot of his campaign promises. I guess thats to be expected though at that high level of power.
not his first term. you're lying. the dems only had a filibuster proof majority for like 3 months (and the senate was working for only like 2 of those months) because al franken didn't get seated until july 2009 and then ted kennedy died a few weeks later and he wasn't even able to come to washington to vote months before his death. his replacement was appointed in late september and then scott brown won the seat in january 2010. where the fukk do people like you get off rewriting history to this ridiculous degree? controlled his destiny the first term?

:umad:

111th Congress (2009-2011)
Majority Party: Democrat (57 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (41 seats)

112th Congress (2011-2013)
Majority Party: Democrat (51 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (47 seats)

And as far as that first two years go, he also had a huge majority in the House.

111th (2009–2011) 257(D) 178(R)

sadly you just proved you don't know what you're talking about. you need a filibuster proof majority (google that) for a party to control its own destiny. that's why even though the republicans have a majority now they can't do anything. obama doesn't even have to use his veto pen because shyt just dies in the senate.

and having a huge majority in the house, well that's just one half of the legislative branch. many a time nancy pelosi's house sent a bill up to the senate and watched it die. just the way the senate works and in these "we're determined to see obama fail" times no republican was going to play ball and that's why they challenged everything and made sure the democrats didn't have their elected super majority in place when obama took office.

for example they really wanted like a 1.2 trillion stimulus package, but because they had to get a couple northeast republicans on board (it was lowered as a condition of their support) in order to avoid cloture since their super majority wasn't in place at the time.

Are you serious?
Exec orders more powerful than anything and the closest to a dictatorship.
I got a lot to lean breh
No, they're not.

Exec orders can be instantly overturned by the other branches of government and later presidents..

They lack the legitimacy of written laws in terms of reach and cachet.

They're not to be abused

Good luck with that

The average person in your state government isn't even thinking about Obama.

The GOP is winning out here.

Spoken like someone who doesn't pay attention to local politics. Virtually every republican for 6 years from every level has ran against the "Obama agenda"

Obama is the reason things have never been this bad before.

Part of his job is maintaining the public's confidence, he hasn't been able to do that with wide swathes of the electorate. That's why his party is historically weak. His party has been trying to distance itself from him, they've lost in spite of this.

the zeitgeist of the US could not tolerate an African in charge of the largest military on the planet. In response, they bought loads of guns and ammo...... and they voted for any candidate that promised to "fight Obama"
