I don't know but i was told to grab a tv that has hdmi 2.1 connection. otherwise, you are stuck with hdmi 2.0 and then the ps5 will need to be in 1080P mode all the time. Sony may or may not release a patch unless there is a demand for it. that's the word on the street.

i already did my part by calling customer support service at sony and told them to release a patch ASAP but i thanked them for helping me go into safe mode and change the setting to 1080p

sony just wants you to buy NEW tvs for this system...
