As an old head (by Coli standards anyway..), that made me feel good tonight. Breakdancing goes back to the years when Hip Hop was innocent. Life was innocent and care free, and I'm lucky enough to have a father. Kinda gives me a lump in the throat. Its like your youth, and I mean the fond years of your youth, the sentimental years of your youth, before responsibility, before pain, before anxiety, ....... breakdancing was part of it. I remember 5th grade, our gym teacher would periodically leave the gym for whatever reason during stretching exercises, and some of us would breakdance for that minute or two. Either that, or run and let the momentum allow us to take a few steps off the wall, just enough to elevate us high enough to grab the rim(plastered to the wall) like we were Dominique Wilkins or Jordan. That was the closest we could get to the rim at that age and be like our idols. Then we'd run back and sit in our place before the teacher got back. Breakdancing though, we didnt need to be a certain age to imitate our idols. Good ol days. Innocence. Where'd those years go? I miss em.
