Chase bank worker accused of stealing account info, money
A Chase Bank call center employee and her boyfriend were arrested in Hillsborough County after being accused of stealing account information and making withdrawals.
Dakima Williams, 31, and her boyfriend Darius Lopez, 22, allegedly stole information from 9 bank accounts, WFTS reports.
Deputies said Williams obtained the bank account information and then added Lopez to the accounts. Lopez was caught making two trips to a Chase Bank in Tampa, withdrawing $5,000 and $4,000 from a Texas couple’s account, according to WFTS.
A Chase Bank spokesperson said to WFTS that when they were notified of the incident the company fired Williams and “reimbursed the affected customers.”
“We also put additional safeguards in place to prevent this type of behavior by restricting access to certain account information and adding extra layers of verification,” the spokesperson added.
Williams and Lopez were taken to the county jail on charges of organized fraud and third-degree grand theft, according to jail records. Both were later released from jail--with Williams posting a $4,000 bond and Lopez released on probation.

But in all seriousness she’s going to get a low sentence so this is just a cool funny story.
