On 12/10/22 at approximately 3:34 pm The Malone Police Department was contacted by the New York State Police about a possible assault that happened in the Village of Malone, the information we received is that a resident of the Webster Mill Road in the Town of Bangor was contacted by a 16-year-old who victim who had come to their house after being dumped along the road, the victim appeared to have substantial injuries and the resident called the New York State Police and 911, Bangor EMS transported the victim to the hospital.
Malone Village Police Department Officers responded to the hospital to interview the victim, it was determined the victim had gone to 30 Ketchum Street in the Village of Malone on Friday Night, once inside the residence the victim was attacked and beat by 3 individuals over the course of 12 hours, numerous times with a metal baseball bat as well as having Clorox dumped on her. The victim was then put into a vehicle and left along the roadside in Bangor. Following the complaint, a Malone Officer located a vehicle on East Main Street being operated by Brittany A. Vanderwerker 30 of Malone and Chauntell M. Faubert 28 of Malone who were taken into custody. A search warrant was applied for and as Malone PD, NYSP and members of the Tri-County SORT Team were getting ready to execute the warrant a trooper stopped a pickup truck that had just left 30 Ketchum Street and took the other suspect Michael P. Vanderwerker 26 of Malone into custody.
The operator of the vehicle Chad Clement 22 of Malone and Brian L. Richards 29 of Malone were taken into custody as well after the trooper found a large amount of Cocaine in the vehicle, they were both charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree by the New York State Police.
Michael P. Vanderwerker 26, Malone, was charged with Assault in the 1st degree, kidnapping in the first degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, arraigned by Judge Fisher in the Town of Malone and committed to the Franklin County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
Brittany A. Vanderwerker 30 of Malone was charged with Assault in the 1st degree and Kidnapping in the 1st degree, arraigned in the Town of Malone Court and held on $75,000 cash bail.
Chantelle M. Faubert 28 of Malone for Assault in the 1st degree and Kidnapping in the 1st degree, arraigned in the Town of Malone Court and held on $75,000 cash bail.
A search warrant was conducted at 30 Ketchum Street by the New York State Police and Malone PD. The investigation is continuing and more arrest are expected.
