This is Why I can't Take these Concussion Lawsuits Seriously

According to Nathan Fenno of the Washington Times, Pat White had joined the concussion lawsuit when he was a former player. Now that he’s reportedly poised to become a current player again with the Redskins, he is dropping his claim.

During his one season in the NFL, White apparently suffered only one concussion, in a game against the Steelers. A hit from cornerback Ike Taylor knocked White out, and resulted in him being removed from the field immobilized on a stretcher.

His lawsuit had alleged, per Fenno, that he “continues to suffer from permanent injuries [including] severe headaches, speech issues, memory loss.” If that’s true, then how will he pass a physical?

This is hilarious to me for two reasons. 1, he was able to join that class action concussion lawsuit with just ONE concussion and 2, he's crying woe is me about how the NFL has destroyed his head but somehow all that went away when the Redskins called.

Right. How many times did he even get tackled in the NFL

Edit: Just looked at his stats. He has played in 13 NFL games. only attempted 5 NFL passes and 21 rushing attempts for 81 yards. So he could have been tackled 26 times max.

As with any class-action lawsuit, you are going to go along for the ride for a chance at a piece of the pie. Better safe than sorry. Judging by some of the names I have seen on the list.....i.e. Eric dikkerson..who seemed to have no problems remembering on the SMU ESPN documentary about remembering events from 30 years ago, Lomas Brown who just recently admitted getting Scott Mitchell injured because he hated him, but he is offended by the NFL's treatment of him, and Pat White, I say half are legit and half are bogus. When they settle this, probably more of a serious effort will be made to weed out the fakers....well I hope so for the people who were legitimately hurt.

Yeah, I'm looking at the list now. You know. Being on the outside looking in I'm def. on the NFL's side on this. Because the list is just outrageous but....... I'm not going to front. I know I'd do the samething to my former employer after I left to get free money off of them.

You guys should check out the book third and a mile, the history of the black qb. I hope the lawsuit bankrupts all the teams. The fact that so many young men put their bodies on the line and these owners rake in the cash gives me no sympathy for them. They used to cut players whenever they were injured. The old players had more of a risk with far fewer rewards than today's athletes. Thats why they're pissed. When Warren Moon got a million dollars it was a big ass deal.

In a tort like this, someone such as a Pat White would be foolish not to add his name. You get beat up for a couple years and now you have headaches or cramps. Why just sit there in pain? Arthur Blank and Jerry Jones are rich forever anyway.

Its only class warfare when we fight back, as the saying goes. Instead of it being millionaires vs labor, its millionaire labor vs billionaires. Pat White is doing him.

It just kills the legitimacy of the whole suit. I understand that dudes gonna get on the gravy train but when you flip flop like this so soon any decent lawyer can kill your case. So now anyone who's ever had a concussion can file against the league? what's next anyone who had a cramp can sue. The NFL needs to not p*ssy out and beat the hell outta these players in court.
