The algorithm of Tiktok/Insta isn’t really geared towards rap. There won’t be a viral Wednesday dance remix with Gucci Mane.

Record companies have no interest in creating new artist let alone rapper artist now. There are no MTV/BET/VH1 to promote so they are relying on the oldheads but let’s be real, Eminem/ Lil Wayne era rappers are closer to AARP than getting a his first driver’s license. And the Drake era ain’t that far behind from needing prostate exams.

The lack of music instruction has probably taken its toll in Gen Alpha. They would rather use AI to regurgitate old music styles as a joke than build something new.
