Not to beat a dead horse cause i've mentioned this on TSC several times, but i'll never understand why we didn't get a Wrestlemania X-Seven rematch around this time between the two, the story would've basically told itself with Austin being WWF Champ and The Rock being World champ, Austin being the leader of the Alliance and Rock leader of Team WWF, not to mention Rock wanting to get revenge from Mania :mindblown:

the invasion angle fukked up a lot during that time. The closest thing we got to that was the survivor series match that ended with rock pinning austin

Supposedly it was being thought of for Summerslam but Rock was gonna come back and win no matter what and that would of ended Austin's momentum..so everything got reworked where Austin could keep reigning and Rock of course was gonna take the lead spot from Angle...the whole World Champion vs WWF Champion (Two great champions for the Undisputed title) was something that Rock and Flair kept bringing up in promos...Austin put over the Rock's thoughts BIG TIME that following Smackdown, which I didn't even remember him doing a promo like that until a few weeks ago but of course they added Angle and Jericho so you couldn't get a str8 up Rock/Austin unification match for a B list PPV like Vengenance.

It made zero sense to have Austin be the leader of the alliance it should've been Kurt Angle

They weren't ready to give up on that heel turn. They did everything in their power to have people boo Austin. The Two Man Power Trip was the best thing going. People were ready to cheer HHH so the inevitable feud between him and Austin would have kept the heel turn alive. When HHH got injured they couldn't use the Power Trip to build anymore heat for Austin so they tried the next thing; turn him into a goofy comedy heel with Kurt Angle. It didn't take as well, people liked the comedy and they started cheering them. Worse still, they made Austin and Angle antagonists against the invading WCW and the crowd wasn't having it. So then they were like hey, they hate WCW, let's throw Austin in there. :yeshrug: So Austin went from goofy/crazy heel back to his Two Man Power Trip persona with a little crazy thrown in but the whole Alliance was looked at as so inept Austin was pretty much an island on to himself where whatever heel heat the group was building wasn't reaching him. Finally they gave up and turned him face by sacrificing Angle's heat. Angle was a mole for the WWE and ended the Alliance but somehow became the heel? :dahell: A lot of heat was killed with that Invasion Angle. The Dudleys and Kurt suffered the most. Thinking back on it HHH getting injured fukked up a lot of shyt. That Austin/HHH feud could have carried them into 2002 and they could have started the real invasion with the NWO.

I never understood the post Survivor Series reboot. I wasn't watching at the time but reading stories on it gave me a fukking headache. It looked to be that Angle got fukked over the most all of the entire Invasion minus the WCW/ECW rejects.

Dude had NO heat for months. But that's what happens when you go heel-face-heel-face-heel, and the last three turns happened in the span of a week or two. :snoop:

It made no sense for Austin who was fired by WCW and helped put them out of business for him to join WCW. It was The Rock vs Austin for WWF vs WCW? It made no sense. Vince vs Heyman vs Bischoff triple threat would've been better
