When you take this (0:32 if you're impatient - the whole thing is :mjcry: genius):

and turn it into this:

You're making hip hop that's on a whole other level. That Jerry Goldsmith shyt is timeless and fukking powerful.

So obviously Premo's shyt is gonna last just as long.

:gladbron:
Never heard that before. Flip is fukking insane :whoo:

There are better examples of sample flips...This sounds like the typical cookie cutter Premo beat...

Plus, a smart person could argue that Hip Hop sampling is like poaching...You are killing an elephant just to use the tusks, but don't make use of the rest of the body...

a) Great sampling is about having the ear/vision. Hearing the power in a composition and bringing it into hip hop's flow and narrative. It's not about technical MPC board shyt.

b) music is like elephants? :jbhmm: Tell us more breh

Came in just to say that. It requires the producer to first of all listen to all kinds of music, recognize something that can potentially be a dope sample, and then put a hip hop twist on it to make the finished product.

Myself
While I don't quite agree with the Thread. I gotta admit, Sampling Issues threw a small little wrench in the game production-wise.

This is still one of my favorites. I didn't even know that this was sampled until I was in Alaska and listening to records to try to flip something and got to middle of the track of the last song on the album and then hit my homeboy with the :ohhh:
