Outside of what was qouted what did you honestly hear that you could understand? How many times did you have to hear Panda before you actually picked up on the lyrics...and half the people still dont understand what the song is about.
Yet that song was played thousands of times across the country daily. And because of its popularity it became a hit. And because it became a hit it became acceptable music. Same thing happen with Soilja Boy. Its popular music breh which is not the same as hiphop.
The difference the new Nas joint..thats hiphop..its elegant...its well written..its straight spitting..no repeated words..no unecessary hook. Just a man..his thoughts and a mic...NO GIMMICKS....
Dropping repetitive 4 bar vs over poorly mixed 808 and snares is music. But its just popular rap...that shyt is not hiphop by my definition at least. Play all the shytty music you want..but dont disrespect the culture by confusing the 2. Hiphop is the essence of rhyme...pop hop is the essence having fun..

Edit: I fully support Desiigner now that I know he crippin. 60s don't play. Don't expect any rappers to go at Desiigner. nikka rolling 60s and I'm pretty sure off the record Rap A Lot getting bread from him too. Mike Dean is an in-house producer for them exclusively, and the fact that he's working with Desiigner says it all.
