I don't were baggy clothes and still experience racism.

I work two full time jobs, go to school, pay taxes, try to stay out of trouble, try to be a productive members of society, but still experience racism from time to time.

Black people like him talk about these things like if we do this, then tomorrow we will be equal members of society, but we won't.

They'll still find a reason to hate us.

The only comments/blogs/videos that go viral are the ones that pander to white people to ease their fears of a militant black community.

And the black community has every right to be angry/militant.

"Don't riot"
"Don't destroy private property" (which, by the way, whose property is it they are destroying? Last I checked Walgreens wasn't owned by a black guy)
"Don't arm yourselves"
"Seek to change the system that made this injustice possible"

...as if black people are in any position to change the legal/criminal/economic system in America.
Those things are set up to screw over black people, and minorities in general.

That's why minorities go to prison at 10x the frequency as whites for the same crimes.
It's why minorities are hired at a fraction of the rates that whites are for the same jobs.

All these viral videos and comments are just assuaging white fear by asking black people to be passive and walk a tight line, because apparently an 18 year old fat kid with nothing in his hands is more of a danger than a police officer with a gun, taser, night stick...etc...

These people don't live in the real world.

1. I'm genuinely curious what white people think should have been an appropriate response to Ferguson. Isnt ANGER and DEPRESSION 40% of the 5 stages of loss and grief? So its OK, and even ENCOURAGED for everyone else on earth to be angry about loss...but for black folks its inappropriate?

2. Why cant the conversation include all of the above? I dont specifically have a problem with a lot of the shyt he's saying in the video. My problem is the timing for one, and this assumption that these are the only appropriate responses. Why cant I go blow up a walmart today, then volunteer at an inner city school tomorrow? Black panthers in the 60s seem to be the only ones that had it right. Arm yourselves and fight injustices at night time...help rebuild the community in the day time.

It gets 1 day of coverage and everyone moves on.
