If you have a republican mayor or governor you need to get activated and vote as left as you possibly can. I'm not talking just a random democrat, you need one that's actually progressive.
A lot of cities are turning into this shyt and the ones who were like that before are worse now.
The government needs to focus on infrastructure and taxing these companies to force them to break up. Wages need to go up so people can save up to start their own businesses in an atmosphere that is competitive. A lot of creative and talented people out there who aren't taking risks because they dong have the financial security.
Public transportation and facilities will improve people's relations with one another. When the most time you're spending around people is either at work or through the screen.
